DAY 7 - CANBERRA TRIP 2012

This morning we woke up at 5:00am to a veranda full of ice!! It took us about an hour and a half to get to Rhythm Snow Sports. We all tried on snow pants, jacket and boots. It took us about 2-3 hours to get to the mountain with snow on it, on the way we watched The Lion King 2, my favourite kids movie. J Eventually we got there, and there was lots of snow and ice. Part 1 by Chelsey.
Firstly I’d like to say, “Hey mum and dad, make sure to give Neon the other ½ of the apple, gosh he’s a fat little pony, lol” The day started off with an early beginning at 5:30, which most people didn’t like the idea of!.... who would? It ended up taking an hour and half to get to Cooma, and another hour to get to Perisher; it was a long way to travel by bus. When we arrived we had lunch and spent another 15 mins on a bus, we caught a shuttle bus from Smiggins. When people saw the snow they were amazed by the sight of it because they’d never experienced it before. Part 1 by Elise

We had lots of fun at the snow today. I made a snow throne at the top of the mountain we were on (King of the Mountain!!!) It was epic. During the tobogganing whenever I hit a pile of snow it hit my face and eyes which stung so I took my gloves off fast to get the ice off my face. Jett

We did snow tobogganing from a hill which was heaps of fun; we went down the slope really fast. After that we went on a chair lift which had a great view. We travelled to the top and climbed up the side of the mountain and slid down again. It was surprising more warm up the top, but it felt like our hands were going to break off from the stinging coldness. Altogether is ended up really well and to finish it off we had a hot chocolate which I think many of us craved. Thanks you for reading and I’d like to say I luv ya mum, dad rest of the family including Neon xo. Part 2 by Elise

After we finished playing on the tobogganing board down the hills, we went on a chair lift to the top of the mountain. (Scary but fun) We had snowball fights, made snow angels, snow men and climbed up hills. After all that we went back onto the chair lifts back down the mountain. When we got to the bus it was freezing cold, our socks and clothes were soaked. We defrosted in the way back on the bus. We dropped off our snow gear and tobogganing board then went to McDonalds for dinner. (Yummmm...):D. We then boarded our last bus ride home with our warm beds waiting for us. J Part 2 by Chelsey

Today at the snow we had a great time. The bus trip was long trip was long but we got there and in the snow.........we FROZE!!!! Boy it was cold!! But wow. For most of us it was a first, we made snowmen, tobogganed and fought with snowballs. I bet most of use wished we had longer in the snow but when we had our hot chocolate and thawed we were good and glad for the warmth. Keegan
