DAY 5 - CANBERRA TRIP 2012
This morning we were awoken at 6:30 am. Exciting facial expressions...... After brekkie we hopped on the bus and travelled to Sunday Church. We arrived as an amazing historical church with breath taking stained glass windows. We took a seat and sang hymns, read scriptures and prayed. There were several other Christian schools from Perth visiting with us. Afterwards we walked into a small room with the other school and the Sunday school students.
We read about David and Goliath and several of the kids did a small play. Then we all participated in a game called ‘My big fat pony” It was really random......but really fun. Then we all took photos, rung the bells and a few of us, including us Biggle twins, played the pipe organ! (Badly!) After wards we got onto the bus and finally had the best lunch ever........wait for it.........DOMINOES!!!!! We had meat lovers, it was the bomb!!!! It gets even better..... we had 4 pieces!!!!! Could eat a whole box but I didn’t want to up chuck pizza on everyone...... just letting you know I didn’t so that’s a good thing. Heaps of love Hanna Begley

First of all “hey Mum”, now back to the day. Today we went to church, it was a big old building, nothing like anything we are used to, it was fun. We played games after church. There were 2 unicycles; Brandon was so good at it. After that we went to the ANZAC parade we saw some pretty cool stuff but I didn’t walk all of it but we went to the War Memorial. We saw cool videos about different wars, we saw models of planes, tanks and guns, we also saw different medals that a soldier can get. It was fun, but very cold outside.

What a view it was from the War Memorial down ANZAC parade looking towards the parliament house, seeing the flag was really cool and breakfast was really good with pancakes and maple syrup and a little bit of toast. Church was great singing and skipping to a Pony song and having morning tea but lunch was the best. We had Dominos Pizza. I had meat lovers; it was good and really meaty. I really enjoyed today and it was very very very long! Jake Starling

Today we woke up at 6:00am INCREADIBLE faces as you all could imagine!!! Haha. After we all got showers and got ready, stuff like that we headed to breakfast where we had pancakes. Yum Yum Yum !!! Also may I add, with maple syrup J and if we were hungry after we had yummy vegemite toast! We were then heading to church which there we sang hymns such as ‘Lord of the Dance’ and ‘Christ the Lord has risen today’. We then went to Sunday school and did a few activities and had biscuits and cordial for morning tea.....mmm....delicious....we walked around the church and discovered new things around the church. I had 4 pieces of meat lovers pizza for lunch, I was extremely full after that, maybe I could have exploded????
After Lunch we went over to the ANZAC parade memorial and saw all of the statues and memorials. We saw Simpson and his donkey, Vietnamese war and well known people that fought in the war. After looking outside of the memorials we went inside the war memorial and all the girls looked at the World War 1 and World War 2 halls. Simpson and his donkey was a great story, the way they had put the story up was as if you were at Gallipoli in the war. I learnt about some pretty cool, upsetting and brave stories about the people who fought for our country at war. When we got back we had a chillax time and then pasta for dinner. Right now I am writing this then I am going to get a shower and then ZZZZZZZZZZ. See you all tomorrow.

The students have been developing new friendships across the group. Many of the kids have been meeting the challenge to ‘Discover Another’ in their journals each night. The church experience was overwhelming for a few but everyone displayed their best manners. There were game and dances that kept everyone interacting. It was great to see Rehoboth students and staff today as well. At the War Memorial we had quite a few students feeling very tired and we have a few losing voices (it’s a bit quieter for the staff!) As tonight draws to a close many have gone to bed early hoping to feel better and more refreshed for tomorrow’s day of political impact tours in our full collage uniforms. Please keep commenting to our blog so we can read them out to the group. Cheers for now
Elise...We miss you...Meow

Teagan!! Hi Gorgeous!! I get exhausted just reading about your days in Canberra! What an awesome experience! How is the CCC count going? Hope you are all getting enough sleep to keep the 'crankies' at bay. :) I miss you so much, though the days are flying past so quick. Did you hear about the chaos at Perth Airport yesterday?? Thousands of passengers were stranded for hours because someone addaed a 'leap-second' to the system and the computers couldn't handle it. All ok now though. You have to come home soon, because I miss watching Dance Moms and Teen Moms with you, plus I don't know how to work the Foxtel thingy. Plus your guinea pig cage needs cleaning and Daddy wants another batch of your yummy cookies, ok?? Miss you. Love you. Mum XXX
